Field Trip To Brandywine: Act 537 Underground Pumps
Brandywine Township has 4 of these pumps as proposed by Newtown Township's Act 537 Plan. Here are the results of a trip I made to check the pumps out.
Part of the Act 537 is to have seven pumps installed throughout Newtown Township to move the waste out. Brandywine Township has four of these pumps and here are the results of a trip I made to check them out:
#1 – Reeceville Road in front of elementary school. Audible within 20' when pumping. Sounded like residential vaccuming inside home from out in the street. Otherwise a hum like from small sub station.
#2 – 539 Old Spring Road, within 25 feet of neighboring house. Audible within 20’ when pumping.

#3 – East Reeceville Road, audible within 5 feet. Smelled gas pipe: like out of roof vent on house. One side emergency road along side stream, other side woods.
#4 – 137 Culbertson Road, audible within 5 feet. Architecture: old-fashioned school house, pine needles and cones over manhole covers, houses near by, both sides.
