How To Get Your Body Summer Fit

FACTS Fitness Personal Trainer Lori Sarne offers helpful information and techniques to getting in shape for spring and summer.

It’s time to stop hiding under your clothing and take out
your favorite tank and shorts.  Follow these easy steps and you too will be ready to look your best this summer.

First of all, you need to schedule at least 30 minutes of any type of cardiovascular activity 5 days a week and when you are ready you can add 2 days of strength training. Using weights is a great way to burn fat faster while toning your
muscles.  Of course, you must skip foods and beverages that are high in fat and calories.  Just say no to anything with a lot of sugar too.

Next, you need to have your abs ready for sitting by the beach or just hanging out at the pool. You want to do plenty of planks, reverse crunches, and do not forget about your oblique muscles.  It is very important that you have the correct form when completing any exercise.  If you are not quite sure how to do an
exercise, make sure that you check with a Personal Trainer to avoid an injury.

You also need to work on your legs and buns by concentrating on deadlifts, squats, lunges, and calf raises. Sorry...walking, running or biking just is not enough and besides everyone likes great legs!

Finally, you will definitely want nice arms and a tone upper body.  Make sure you add plenty of push-ups, bench dips, shoulder press and lateral raises. Don’t forget  to try doing pull-ups, they are hard but worth the effort.   A light weight with a lot of reps goes a long way.

Good luck and remember you can follow this routine all year long so that your body is always ready for the summer.  Don’t forget to eat healthy and drink plenty of water.  For additional tips and information about getting in your best shape ever, contact one of the trainers at Ellis Athletic Center 610-355-7360.
