PennSTAR Medical Helicopter Teach Cadets About Air Ambulance Service
PennSTAR flys in to educate Bromall Fire. Co. cadets.
The residents of Marple Newtown area always ask, "What's going on?" when they see a medical helicopter flying low in the skies above. Thursday night The University of Pennsylvania Hospital's PennSTAR 1 helicopter came to teach the cadets about the air ambulance service.
Flight paramedic Mike Henken started the evening talking to the cadets about what services an air ambulance provides. Then the cadets were treated to a close-up tour of the aircraft. So, for the residents that heard the helicopter overhead and said, " I wonder what is going on?" It was for educational purposes and not for an inquired resident.
Marple Township Emergency services have used PennSTAR and other air ambulance services in the past for residents and visitors who have sustained serious tramatic injuries. This service is a vital cog in the wheel for the survival of tramatically injuried patients.
