Senior Fair on May 13 Sponsored by Delaware County Office of Services for the Aging

Annual Senior Fair sponsored by Delaware County Office of Services for the Aging is May 13.

May is Older Americans month. That means there will be quite a few events and activities for seniors. On May 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Delaware County Office of Services for the Aging (COSA), will host their annual senior fair at Harrah's Race Track in Chester. This is one of the largest senior fairs in our region. It will be a venue to obtain information about all aspects of senior care and local resources. Parking is free and there are usually giveaways provided by the vendors.

If you attend the event at Harrah's, stop by the Delaware County Bar Association table to have your Elder Law questions answered by members of the Bar Association's Elder Law Committee. Additional information will be distributed at that table, including the Elder Law and Resources Booklet. I will be at the booth between Noon and 1 p.m., and would love to meet readers if you would be willing to stop over and say "hello."

Last year at the fair we had an opportunity to meet representatives from our local government, including the Office of the District Attorney, COSA and our state representatives. Also present were representatives from local banks and mortgage companies, personal care and nursing homes, medicare insurance plans, local hospitals, home aides and much more. There was also entertainment including music and bingo. And free blood pressure readings. If you have an opportunity to attend, you will not want to miss this once a year event.
