The National Day of Prayer

An invitation from Our Town member Patti Bruno.

My name is Patti Bruno and I am the coordinator for The National Day of Prayer for all of Delaware County. This is a very special event which comes once a year.  Our big Observance will be  this THURSDAY, MAY 2, in ROSETREE PARK on the mall under the Big Flag, in Media .It will be starting at 11:30 A.M.  This year is an extra special year for us as we are celebrating our 20th Anniversary here in Delaware County!!!  It is very exciting and we are going to have a great day in the park!!  I am getting the word out about our observance to the many residents of  Our Community, Friends and Believers, to give all the opportunity to attend and share this wonderful day of prayer, praise, worship and song for the Lord.
We will be praying for our country, our government leaders, our churches, clergy, schools, teachers, marriages, families and the unborn.  We will also be praying for our veterans, police, firemen, emergency workers and our military personnel.  Prayers will also be offered for our businesses and for our media of all types: radio, television, internet and print. We will have special prayers for the sick and shut-ins, the incarcerated and the addicted from ALL TYPES of addictions.
Our speaker is Scott Ott, Spirit filled author, host on PKTV.com where he does opinion, news commentary and humor shows.  Praised by Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, Mark Levin & James Taranto at the Wall Street Journal, he is also the creator/producer of a 20-part documentary series on the making of the U.S. Constitution called 'Freedom's Charter'.  A Sunday School teacher in his local church, who has preached in more than 50 other churches, trained church planters in Missouri, as well as running a non-profit Christian children's camp and retreat with his wife. Worship music will be led by CaitlinJane, singer and worship leader from Delaware.  Her hauntingly beautiful song 'Unborn' will be our Special Prayer dedicated to all unborn in the womb that they may be saved.  Our prayers will be layered with music throughout the entire event. A very special treat will be the Acappella Choir, 'Turning Point', from Eastern University who will open the day with their awesome rendition of 'The Lord's Prayer'.  Their beautiful voices are a great gift to us from the Lord for this day.  His Loving Blessings to all of us who will come out to praise and acknowledge Him have already begun.
The times in which we presently live are undeniably in desperate need of a collective voice and presence of prayer that will positively impact the condition of our community, our nation and our world. It can begin with us at local levels as we join together in agreement to call on the God of our faith.  Therefore your prayers, participation and support are vital.  Please give this request deliberate consideration. With our nation having so many social, political and spiritual problems,we need to gather for fervent united prayer.  With all that is happening in our country at this very moment, this prayer gathering is much needed and very important for our land.
This year's theme, "Pray for America",is based on Matthew 12:21 - "In His Name The Nations Will Put Their Hope".   In 1863, President Abraham Lincoln said,"It behooves us, then to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins and to pray for clemency and forgiveness," "If we do not confess the sins of our critically ill culture, the illness could be terminal.  Time and time again, God has judged nations by the character of His people.  When His people failed to repent, their nations fell.  The great spiritual movements in history have often been preceded by seasons of great moral crisis not unlike what we face today.  For this reason, and for the moral health of our nation, it is imperative that Christ's followers be vigilant in prayer".
All are welcome to join us in prayer and song.  Let your voice be heard along with many others as we pray to the Lord for our nation.  I have been honored that the Lord has allowed me the privilege of working for Him for such a Special Day of Honor to His Name,  I encourage you to attend and share this event with others .It will be a wonderful day!!
Chairs are provided by the park but for more comfort bring a 'softer' chair from home.  For more information find us on Facebook or go to our website www.nationaldayofprayer.org
