Broomall Fire Co. To Get New Station
The men and woman of the fire company will likely be moving into their new station in spring 2019, the fire company said.
BROOMALL, PA – Marple Township Police recently got a new building to call home, and now the Broomall fire Company is moving froward to get a new home of its own. The fire company announced Friday that they have reached an agreement to build a new fire station across the street from its current home.
The fire company is partnering with Kennett Square-based architecture firm Bernardon to design the new station, which is expected to be built by spring 2019, the fire company said.
"We are extremely excited to be working with Bernardon on this new fire house project," Broomall Fire Co. President Jim Capuzzi said in a press release. "The new station will make BFC a more responsive and efficient operation, and will allow us to continue to serve the Marple Township community for decades to come."

To pat for the new station, the fire company was given a $3.5 million grant form the state and the Marple Township Commissioners are providing an additional $3 million in funding to help the company further improve its emergency services.
The fire company said the new station will be located across from its current station on Malin Road near West Chester Pike.

Its current station is "insufficiently sized" to accommodate all of the fire company's apparatuses and the new 25,000-square-foot station will be able to house all of its equipment effectively, the fire company said.
