Broomall Man Hit Girlfriend, Teen Girl: Marple Police

Ronald Baskerville has been charged with felony aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child, harassment, and more, police said.

BROOMALL, PA — A Broomall man has been charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and more crimes after police said he hit his girlfriend and his girlfriend's daughter during a domestic incident Saturday.

Ronald Baskerville, 35, of Broomall, was taken into custody after police were called to an apartment at 1 Lawrence Road in Broomall at about 9 a.m. Saturday.

According to police, officers were called to the area for a domestic incident and when arriving heard a man say "I'm about to f*** you up."

Police found a 13-year-old girl, her mother, and the mother's boyfriend, later identified as Baskerville, in the apartment.

The girl left the apartment at the request of police, but the women and Baskerville stayed, arguing, police said.

The woman eventually left and Baskerville also tried to leave the apartment, but police told him he was not free to leave and physically stopped him from doing so by placing hands on his chest.

That's when police said Baskerville took a defensive stance, but he backed down and walked toward an apartment.

Another officer arrived and pulled out his taser, but Baskerville calmed down and was placed in handcuffs, police said.

Baskerville then told police he got into an argument with his girlfriend when he got home from work. He said he left the apartment, but forgot his cell phone, and when he went back to get it the door was locked.

Baskerville somehow got into the apartment and was unable to find his phone, which prompted the argument that led authorities to be called, police said.

Police then spoke with the woman, who said Baskerville struck her in the face and that Baskerville kicked the apartment door until the lock broke.

Police said in kicking the door open, the teen was struck.

The teen then told police she was struck by Baskerville as he kicked the door open and that she saw Baskerville strike her mother.

Police also said Baskerville was found to be in possession of marijuana.

When he was escorted to a police vehicle, authorities said Baskerville called one of the officers a "f***ing p****," and tried to spit on him.

Baskerville was arraigned that day and was released after posting 10 percent of $50,000 bail Wednesday, court records show.

He is scheduled for a Nov. 21 preliminary hearing.
