Broomall Woman Led Police On 13-Mile Chase Ending In Crash: Cops

A Broomall woman and a Collegeville man were arrested after leading police on a 13-mile chase that ended in a crash in Chester County.

BROOMALL, PA — A Broomall woman who was wanted in Delaware on burglary and related charges was arrested in Chester County Wednesday after allegedly leading police on a chase that ended in a crash, according to court records and police.

Jennifer Lee Buce, 39, of Broomall, was arrested Wednesday and hit with 28 counts of various charges, including felony aggravated assault, felony fleeing police, felony burglary, theft, resisting arrest, and numerous traffic violations, among others, according to court records.

Michael Vincent Marusco, 37, of Collegeville, was also arrested following the chase and was charged with 22 counts of various crimes including felonies.

The pair were both held on $250,000 each, court records show.

Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police were conducting surveillance on the pair the afternoon of Wednesday, June 12 after being getting a tip that they were in the area Buce and Marusco were the suspects.

At 12:12 p.m. Wednesday, police received a report from a Westtown Township resident about a suspicious white male who knocked on the front door of the residence. When video surveillance at the home was reviewed, it showed that a white male subject approached the front door and used his shirt to check the front door knob.

The person looked at the mounted video camera and quickly left the home.

Detectives reviewed the video supplied by the homeowner and confirmed that the white Kia involved in the pursuit was in fact the vehicle at the home and the male occupant in the car was Marusco, police said.

Police saw the pair in a Kia and tried to pull them over in East Whiteland Township, but Buce allegedly backed up into a police vehicle during the stop and drove off, leading police on a 13-mile chase that ended in Thornbury Township with a crash.

Buce and Marusco allegedly crashed into a Honda and ended the chase. The outlet reports the Honda's driver was not hurt.

Buce and Marusco are slated for preliminary hearings on June 19, court records show.

Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police were assisted by the United States Marshal Service, New Castle County Delaware Police, Chester City Police Department, Pennsylvania State Parole, East Whiteland Police, West Goshen Township Police, Willistown Police, Birmingham Police, PA State Police-Aviation, West Chester Police, Springfield Township Police, Good Fellowship Ambulance and West Chester Fire Police.
