Residents will vote for governor, House of Representatives and more in November. Here are the candidates set to appear on local ballots.
NEWTOWN, PA — With the primaries over, the candidate fields have been set for November's general elections.
Voters in Marple and Newtown will be among millions of Pennsylvanians deciding on a governor and State House representatives this fall. Meanwhile, midterm elections across the nation will shape the U.S. House of Representatives.
General Election Day is Nov. 3.

GOVERNOR, LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR
- Josh Shapiro*, Austin Davis* (Democratic Party)
- Stacy Garrity, Jason Richey (Republican Party)
Of note: Richey defeated John Ventre in the Republican primary for lieutenant governor. Both governor races, and the Democratic primary for lieutenant governor, were uncontested.
U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES: PENNSYLVANIA'S 5TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
- Mary Gay Scanlon* (D)
- Nick Manganaro (R)
Of note: The district's electorate became more liberal in 2018, when the Pennsylvania Supreme Court redrew the state's congressional district boundaries as part of a gerrymandering ruling. Scanlon was first elected to the seat later that year.
Republicans have held majorities in the House and Senate throughout President Donald Trump's second term.
PENNSYLVANIA STATE SENATE: 26TH DISTRICT
- Tim Kearney* (D)
- Alfe Goodwin (R)
Of note: Republicans hold the State Senate majority.

- Deirdre McCleary (R)
Of note: O'Mara has held the seat since 2019.
The Democratic Party holds the State House majority.
166th legislative district (includes part of Marple)
- Judy Trombetta (D)
- Joe Walker (R)
Of note: This district will have its first new face since 1993 after Trombetta — president of Haverford's Board of Commissioners — defeated longtime State Rep. Greg Vitali in the Democratic primary.
Trombetta will face Republican Joe Walker, an insurance broker.
168th legislative district (includes all of Newtown)
- Lisa A. Borowski* (D)
- Kathryn Buckley (R)
Of note: Borowski has held the seat since 2023.
