Coronavirus Cases Surpass 7.5K In Delco, Recovery Rate Still High
Nearly 80 percent of all coronavirus-related deaths in Delaware County have been nursing home residents. See more data on the virus here.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Coronavirus cases in Delaware County have surpassed 7,500 as of Friday, but the county's recovery rate is nearly 83 percent still.
According to the latest data on the virus's impact in the county provided Friday, 7,543 cases have been reported to date.
Nearly a third of all cases in the county have been in nursing home or long term care facility residents. As of Friday, 2,426 cases have been identified in those facilities, which is 32.2 percent of all cases.

Of all municipalities in the county, Upper Darby Borough has the most with 1,232. That's 16.3 percent of all cases in the county.
The locations of 281 cases has not been identified.

Yeadon Borough has the highest rate of infection of all municipalities, with 3.79 percent — or 435— of its 11,471 population seeing cases.
Men account for 43.04 percent of all cases and woman account for 56.96 percent of all cases.
To date, Delco has gotten 42,618 negative coronavirus test results and has an 82.6 percent recovery rate
Friday's data also shows the county has seen a total of 709 deaths.
Of those deaths, 566 — or 79.8 percent — have been nursing home or long term care facility residents.
Middletown Township still has the highest number of deaths in the county with 146, which is 20.6 percent of all deaths in the county.
