Couple Charged After Pills, Cocaine, Gun, More Seized: Marple Police

Police arrested and charged a man they said was a known drug trafficker in Marple Township. The man's significant other was also charged.

MARPLE TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Marple Township seized a firearm and numerous pills during an early December search warrant, leading to a Clifton Heights man and his significant other being charged with numerous crimes.

On Dec. 6, Marple Township Police and Delaware County Narcotics Task Force executed multiple early morning search warrants and arrested Markus Terry Scott, 37, of Clifton Heights.

Police said Scott was identified as a narcotics trafficker, saying he distributed controlled substances in and around Marple Township.

In the search warrant executions, authorities found a loaded Black Taurus 9mm firearm; more than 300 pills resembling Oxycodone Hydrochloride; more than 170 pills resembling Alprazolam; more than 50 pills resembling Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine; fourteen pills resembling Oxycodone Hydrochloride; about 155 grams of suspected marijuana; about 9 grams of suspected cocaine; 11 Buprenorphine and Naloxone sublingual films; a small amount of suspected mushrooms; ammunition for firearm; bulk drug packaging paraphernalia; and three digital scales.

Scott was charged with firearm violations, drug possession, drug paraphernalia possession, and more crimes.

Ashley Marie Hand, 33, of Clifton Heights and Scott's significant other, surrendered to Marple Police and was charged with numerous drug-related crimes.

Scott's bail was set at $500,000 cash. He was remanded to Delaware County Prison and is scheduled for a January preliminary hearing.

Court records show Scott was sentenced to probation earlier this year after pleading guilty to simple assault

Hand’s bail was set at 10 percent of $75,000, which she posted and was released.
