Culbertson Elementary School Welcomes New Principal

The Marple Newtown School District is proud to announce Mr. James Wigo, Jr. as the new Principal at Culbertson Elementary School.

Mr. James Wigo is a graduate of Neumann University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Masters of Science in Education. He was Principal at Primos Elementary School for 3 years and spent 9 years in the Upper Darby School District. James Wigo, Jr. began his teaching career at the Glen Mills School.

Wigo is a proven effective instructional leader through the implementation of the successful academic and social curricula for Kindergarten through 5th grades. He fosters a warm and welcoming learning environment, which enables students to achieve academically and socially.

Born and raised in Delaware County, he currently resides in Broomall with his wife, Linda and 2 sons. Wigo coaches and serves on the board for the South Marple Little League and coaches in the Marple Newtown Basketball Association. “I am truly vested in the Marple Newtown Community with my wife as an employee of Paxon Hollow Middle School for the past 18 years and a child currently attending Loomis Elementary School. I am humbled and very excited to be named the Principal of Culbertson Elementary School. I look forward to meeting and working with the parents, community and most of all the students of Culbertson Elementary School. Go Cougars!” said Wigo.
