Delco Biker Caused Crash That Seriously Hurt Woman: State Police

RIDLEY PARK, PA — A Delaware County man has been accused of causing a motorcycle crash in Chester County that led to a woman being hospitalized in critical condition.
Brian Blattner, 37, of Ridley Park, is charged with felony aggravated assault, felony aggravated assault by vehicle, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault, careless driving, reckless driving, and failing to obey traffic lanes.
The charges stem from a Sept. 13 incident on Baltimore Pike in Pennsbury Township.

According to Pennsylvania State Police in Chester County, troopers, firefighters, and EMTs were called to the area of 642 Baltimore Pike in Pennsbury at about 6:45 p.m. that day for a report of a crash involving two motorcycles.
Authorities said when the crash occurred, a group of motorcycle riders wearing Pagans Motorcycle Club jackets were passing stopped traffic and blocked the northbound traffic by slowing down and preventing other vehicles from passing legally in open lanes.

Before the crash, a woman was driving a motorcycle in the open left lane to pass traffic, police said.
Blattner, also on a motorcycle, veered into the left lane, striking the woman's motorcycle, according to authorities.
She then crashed into a cement barrier and was thrown from her motorcycle, police said.
She was knocked unconscious and suffered serious injuries which required her to be hospitalized, authorities said.
Eventually, investigators learned of Blattner's role in the crash and obtained a warrant for his arrest, according to state police.
He was taken into custody Thursday on the above charges.
Blattner was released after posting 10 percent of $50,000 bail Thursday, according to court documents. He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 10, court records show.
Authorities also said a Bridgeport man, 51-year-old George Cwienk III, was arrested and charged in connection with another incident at that same time and location. He is charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, and more, according to police.
