Delco DA Stollsteimer Elected To State DAs Institute Board

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Delaware County's top cop has joined a state organization that provided professional development and training for prosecutors, law enforcement and victim advocates.

The Pennsylvania District Attorneys Institute (PDAI) recently announced that Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer was elected to fill a vacancy on its board of directors.

The PDAI is the educational and training arm of the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association,

Stollsteimer was sworn into office in 2020. He has focused his first term not only on investigating and prosecuting crime, but also supporting initiatives to reduce crime, supporting sensible alternatives to incarceration when appropriate, collaborating with other agencies to bring about comprehensive changes that improve the quality of life for all who are touched by the criminal justice system, and expanding Pennsylvania’s ethnic intimidation law.

"The Pennsylvania District Attorneys Institute works to provide prosecutors with the knowledge and skills they need to best serve the citizens of the commonwealth," said Butler County District Attorney and PDAI President Richard A. Goldinger. "Our new board members will provide valuable input as we develop education and training programs to ensure integrity in the work of prosecutors and truth in the justice we seek."

Warren County District Attorney Robert C. Greene was also elected to the organizations board.

In addition to training, the PDAI manages statewide programs to place PA MedReturn prescription drug drop-off boxes in communities and works with the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency to provide PA SAVIN, a statewide-automated victim notification service.

It was also instrumental in completing a three-year campaign in conjunction with several Pennsylvania-based insurance providers to provide naloxone to local police departments.

The PDAI, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Harrisburg.

Since its inception, the Institute has trained over 2,000 assistant district attorneys in its basic prosecutors’ course and held a district attorney seminar for newly elected and appointed DAs every other year.

The Institute also conducts training courses for law enforcement officers and victim service professionals.
