'Delco Day' To Be Recognized Across Pennsylvania June 10
Delco Day celebrations will be held June 1 in Prospect Park and will benefit the HEADstrong Foundation.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Rejoice, Delco residents: the entire state of Pennsylvania is poised to recognize you and the county in June on "Delco Day."
State Rep. Jennifer O'Mara, who represents a large portion of Delaware County in the state legislature, proposed a house resolution recently that would declare June 10 as Delco Day in Pennsylvania.
And state lawmakers approved the measure.

Why June 10? Abbreviated 6/10, June 10 represents the main area code for Delaware County, 610.
“Whether you’re talking about the great people and life-long relationships made here, we should all be proud to call Delco home,” she said. “I applaud my colleagues in Harrisburg for supporting June 10th as Delco Day across the commonwealth – a time our communities come together to celebrate a great cause.”

This year’s Delco Day celebration will take place on June 1 at Marty Magee's in Prospect Park and will feature more than a dozen local bands, celebrities, companies, and organizations working together to celebrate life.
Delco Day supports the HEADstrong Foundation, which works to provide housing for cancer patients.
The HEADstrong Foundation purchased a home in Swarthmore Borough and fully renovated the home to serve families affected by cancer on or after December 11, 2017.
Known as "Nick's House" — named after the owner's son who passed away from cancer — the house offers 2,555 complimentary nights of comfort, support and respite annually for families displaced to the Greater Philadelphia Region while seeking comprehensive cancer care and potentially lifesaving clinical trials
