DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — New data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health shows how Delaware County is faring in terms of combating the coronavirus.
According to the new data, Delco has seen declines in five of six key metrics that measure the coronavirus's impact in the county.
The average daily number of patients on ventilators in Delaware County has increased from 3.7 last week to 4 this week.

While that number increased, other metrics are down.
Newly-reported confirmed cases are down to 426, with last week's number being 444.

The county's positivity rate dropped from 5.2 percent to 4.6 percent.
COVID-19 hospitalizations in Delco dipped from 36.1 over the previous seven days down to 27.3 in the most recent seven days.
Additionally, the percentage of all emergency department visits in the county that are related to COVID-like illnesses is at a very low 0.9 percent for the past week. It stood roughly the same, 1 percent, over the previous seven days.
The sixth metric is the "incidence rate per 100,000," which is at 75.4 cases for the past seven days. It was at 78.6 the previous seven.
The county reported 35 new cases on Wednesday. There are now 9,867 cases and 766 total deaths county-wide since the pandemic began.
