Director Of Finance Sought In Marple Township

MARPLE TOWNSHIP, PA — A new Director of Finance is sought in Marple Township, and interested parties can apply now through July.

Marple's Finance Department is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the director position.

The Director of Finance reports directly to the Township Manager, manages a team of four full time employees, and provides guidance to the manager and elected board regarding financial matters

Finance directors are responsible for all aspects of financial accounting and reporting both internally and externally — state and federal — as well as all daily operations in the finance department.

Candidates should have a working knowledge of local government DB and DC pension plans, trusts, L/T debt management, general fund, enterprise funds, and special revenue fund operations.

The ideal applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university, and a minimum of 10 years of municipal accounting experience is desirable.

An active certified public accountant license is also a plus.

Sought are individuals who are personable, detailed oriented, and possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, customer service skills, and can productively work well in a busy public environment.

The salary commensurate with experience and qualifications and the township offers benefits, such as full employer paid healthcare, dental, vision, and prescription coverage, vacation, personal and sick days, a 100 percent company funded DC pension, and an optional 457 deferred compensation savings plan.
