Drive-Thru Food Donation Event Set For Dec 11 In Newtown Square
Delaware County officials as well as state and federal representatives are hosting the collection event next weekend in Newtown Square.
NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA — As the holiday season gets into full swing, some families will find themselves struggling to enjoy meals. Luckily, a food donation event is planned for next weekend in Newtown Square.
Delaware County officials, as well as state and federal representatives, are hosting a drive-thru food drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11 at Edgmont Township Community Park, 800 Gradyville Road in Newtown Square.
All items collected will be donated to Delaware County food pantries for families in need.

This collection event is contactless, meaning volunteers will take items from donor vehicle trunks while in the park's lot.

- peanut butter
- stews
- canned ham, chicken, tuna, sardines

- lentils
- dry black, pinto, kidney beans

- semolina (sooji)
- whole wheat
- maseca (tortilla flour)

- body wash/soap
- toothpaste
- toothbrushes
- shampoo
- feminine hygiene products
The event is sponsored by the Delaware County Council, District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer, the Department of Human Services, Edgmont Township, Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon (D-5th District), State Sen. Tim Kearny (D-26th District), State Sen. John Kane (D-9th District), State Sen. Amanda Cappaletti (D-17th District), and State Rep. Chris Quinn (R-168th District).
