Empty Bullet Casing Prompts Lockdown At Marple Newtown High School

There was a lockdown at Marple Newtown Senior High School Friday after an empty 9mm bullet casing was found in a locker room, reports say.

6ABC reports the lockdown was lifted by 11:22 a.m. It began around 9:30a.m.

No injuries were reported and no arrests made.

According to a statement released by the district, the administration worked with police to investigate the discovery. The statement asked parents not to contact the school.

There was no threat to student safety, the statement said.
