Burlap and Bean: Sarah Donner and Ginger Coyle

An evening with Sarah Donner and Ginger Coyle.
A special double feature.

Sarah Donner works the stage with a rhythmic guitar style, a fresh melodic line, and a candid stage presence that is all Sarah Donner. Her third album Typing Is Dangerous is now available on CD Baby, iTunes, and eMusic. Sarah Donner was chosen as a regional finalist in the 2010 Mountain Stage New Song contest. In 2009, Sarah was a New Folk finalist at the Kerrville Folk Festival. The songs 'Whalers and Sailors' and 'Knocks on a Door' were chosen from over 800 entries. Sarah Donner is a graduate of Westminster Choir College. After stretching her vocal cords with opera and musical theatre, she picked up a guitar, abandoned her classical roots, and started rocking out. To listen to samples, visit www.sarahdonner.com

In 2006 Ginger Coyle joined hiphop/pop group The Thunderkatz (T!katz) as co-front woman in the eclectic band. They quickly won a BMI urban showcase and signed with Murder Inc /Universal Motown in 2007. The T!katz shook up the Atlanta music scene opening for acts like Flobots, Cobra Starship, Hollywood Undead, Chrisette Michele, and B.O.B. They toured the Midwest with Third Eye Blind and were even featured on an episode of MTV's G's to Gent's. But it wasn't too long before the band broke up due to differences with their labels. After the breakup Ginger had the experience to do a lot of different things. She ultimately decided to get back to her folk rock roots to take care of some unfinished business. She retreated to her tiny basement apartment with her upright piano, guitars, and home studio. Many hours were spent pounding on keys, plucking on strings, and nurturing her sound as a singer songwriter. In the end she has come forward with a more mature sound that compliments her soulful spirit. To listen to samples, visit www.gingercoyle.com
