Delaware County Symphony Chamber Music Series performs works by Bartok, Weber, Shostakovich and Martinu
The Delaware County Symphony presents the second of its Chamber Concert Series for the 2011-2012 season on Sunday November 20, 2011 at 3 p.m. in the Meagher Theatre of the Thomas A. Bruder, Jr. Life Center at Neumann University, Aston, Pa. This unique concert will feature piano trios and three pieces for piano with four hands. Included in the program will be Trio for Flute, Cello and Piano by Boshuslav Martinu; Four Waltzes for Flute, Clarinet and Piano by Dmitri Shostakovich; Contrasts for Clarinet,Violin and Piano by Bela Bartok; No.4 from Eight Pieces, Op.60, No 2 from Six Pieces Op.10 and No 7 from Eight Piecess,Op. 60 by Carl Maria Von Weber and Rumanian Dances (arranged by Jeremy Gill for Piano 4 hands) by Bela Bartok. Performers for this concert will be Catherine Duerr (flute), Jeremy Gill and Arnold Ostroff (piano), Anida Goga (violin), Vincent Iannone (clarinet) and Charles Thomas (cello). The theatre is handicapped accessible and there is ample free parking adjacent to the theatre. Tickets are $10, $8 for seniors/students and free for children with paying adult admission.
All members of the military on active and reserve duty who attend in uniform will be admitted free.
