STORAHTELLING: Ancient Stories, New Generations
With Amichai Lau-Lavie

A weekend of adult and family programs open to the public:

  • Friday 6:30 p.m. potluck followed by Shabbat service and program. March 16
    Friday 8:00 p.m. Shabbat Services and Program
    A Taste of Storahtelling.  Interactive introduction to Storahtelling and Torah translation.
  • Saturday 1:00 p.m. lunch (res required) followed by adult program - Meet the Maven - The traditional Maven made Torah come alive for people for more than 1,500 years.  In this interactive study session, be a part of reviving that tradition while exploring Talmudic, Rabbinic and legal sources tracing the history of live, oral biblical translation.
  • Saturday 4:15 p.m. family program - Backstage with Storahtelling - Bring the family to get up and move around in a fun and interactive session that will explore the many voices of the ancient Bible and find your own voice.  Appropriate for school-age children.       
  • Sunday 10:00 a.m. brunch and program - A Maven Performance-  Join Storahtelling's founding director Amichai Lau-Lavie in bringing Torah to life presenting Parashat Vayakhel/ Pekudei (The Building of the Tabernacle) through a mix of chanting, dramatized ($15 reservations required) English translation and interactive commentary.  Followed by a Q&A.
