FBI Reportedly Probing Delaware County Computer System 'Hack'
Delaware County Tuesday said part of the county's computer network experienced a "disruption," but said election data was not affected.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — After Delaware County launched an investigation into a "hack" of part of its computer network, federal authorities have reportedly stepped in.
Action News reports the FBI has joined the investigation into the computer network disruption.
The county Wednesday said authorities immediately launched an investigation that included taking certain systems offline and working with computer forensic specialists to determine the nature and scope of the event.

It's unclear when the disruption was discovered.
Officials noted the Bureau of Elections and the Emergency Services Department were not affected by the disruption.

According to the county, the Bureau of Elections and Emergency Services are separate computer networks from the County of Delaware and there is no evidence they were impacted by the disruption.
"We are working diligently to restore the functionality of our systems," officials said in a statement.
Delaware County employees have been notified and provided with information and instructions regarding the disruption.
