Fire Heavily Damages Duplex In Delco

Chester Pike was temporarily closed during the fire.

SHARON HILL, PA — A fire heavily damaged a residential duplex Thursday morning in Delaware County.

Firefighters were dispatched at 8:45 a.m. to Kenny Avenue in Sharon Hill, where a house fire with people trapped inside was reported. However, everyone inside both homes evacuated shortly after.

The Sharon Hill Fire Company says it arrived within a couple minutes and found smoke showing from the two-story twin.

Firefighters found the blaze in a second-floor front bedroom and placed it under control in 20 minutes.

Several nearby fire departments also had crews at the scene.

The Sharon Hill Fire Company shared a photo showing heavy damage to the room.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
