Firefighters Tackle Brush Fire Tuesday In Marple Township

A brush fire broke out in a large wooded area Tuesday afternoon, and crews spent a few hours knocking back hotspots in the woods.

MARPLE TOWNSHIP, PA — Emergency responders spent a few hours tackling a brush fire and its remaining hotspots in Marple Township Tuesday.

The Broomall Fire company was called to Reed and Sproul roads at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday for a brush fire.

Crews found a large brush fire about 500 yards off Reed Road and Marpit Drive in a 200-plus acre wooded area.

Firefighters went into the woods with a fire line to help stop the spread.
