George Hughes, Delco Businessman, Missing Since Last Week
George Hughes, 57, owner of Broomall Auto Body, was last seen at the Edgemont Square Shopping Center in Newtown Square Monday, May 16.
BROOMALL, PA — A local businessman is missing and the community and authorities are asking for help finding him.
George Hughes, 57, has been missing since Monday, May 16.
Hughes was last seen outside the Fine Wine & Good Spirits store in the Edgemont Square Shopping Center in Newtown Square between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Monday, according to Private Missing Person Investigator Kevin Ryan.

Ryan said it's unclear if Hughes left the area on foot or in a vehicle, and is awaiting security footage of the area as he prepares to move forward with the case.
His vehicle was left at work, according to Ryan.

Hughes Family retained Ryan to help with the search, and Ryan told Patch he's been working alongside Marple Township Police in the search.
Hughes is the owner of Broomall Auto Body on Media Line Road and is well known in the county.
Ryan led an unsuccessful search in Ridley Creek State Park and at the Edgemont Shopping Center Sunday.
While the search did not yield positive results, numerous people asked the group of about 60 volunteers if they were looking for Hughes, showing how broad his impact in the community is.
"Everybody knows him," Ryan said. "From all ends of the county, people were asking if we were looking for George."
Hughes has never gone missing before, Ryan said.
His dedication to his wife, son, and daughter and the business makes the disappearance all the more devastating for the family, Ryan said.
"He had things in his life he wouldn't walk away from," Ryan said.
He is also without his daily medications.
Hughes is 6 feet tall, weighs 165 pounds, has blue eyes, and blond/gray hair.
He was last seen blue jeans, a white shirt, and sneakers.
