Green Business Coalition Pledge Program Comes to Newtown Square
An initiative to adopt and maintain environmentally sustainable practices throughout the Township

Township officials and legislators, together with business and community leaders, gathered at the Newtown Square Business Association (NSBA) luncheon on March 16, 2023, where the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors and Environmental Advisory Council introduced the Sustainable Newtown Square - Green Business Coalition Pledge Program.
The Sustainable Newtown Square – Green Business Coalition is a free program sponsored by Newtown Township for businesses that pledge to adopt and maintain environmentally sustainable practices and give back to the community. The program is 100% voluntary, non-binding and aims to:
- Educate businesses about environmentally sustainable practices.
- Reward and recognize businesses that have taken steps to be good stewards of their community and environment.
- Encourage residents to buy local and consume responsibly.
The goal of the program is to form public-private partnerships within the Township and the business community in order to develop win-win opportunities for businesses, local government and Township residents. Several businesses in the Township were recognized at the luncheon for being early adopters and taking the Green Business Coalition Pledge, including: Boiron USA, SAP America, Dunwoody Retirement Village and Garrett Williamson Foundation.
