Guns Delivered To Delco High School: Reports

A box of guns was mistakenly delivered to Chester High School just days before classes are scheduled to start, according to reports.

CHESTER, PA — In a time when active shooter drills are commonplace in schools across the nation, a box of guns were mistakenly delivered to a Delaware County high school just days before classes start.

A box containing six rifles was delivered to Chester High School in Chester last week.

According to the Delaware County Daily Times, the guns were delivered Friday and were locked in the school's loading dock over the weekend.

The guns were taken to the school due to a typo in the delivery address, NBC10 reports.

Fox 29 reports the firearms were intended to be sent to a mechanic's shop that's on West 9th Street in Chester Township. The school is on West 9th Street in the City of Chester.

Police said there was no criminal intent by the shop's owner.

The Chester Upland School District is scheduled to begin classes for all grades on Monday, Aug. 29.
