Tractor-Trailer Overturns In Delco, Injuring Driver And Shutting Down Interstate
The highway was shut down for several hours, creating major traffic jams during the morning commute.
MARPLE TOWNSHIP, PA — A tractor-trailer overturned Friday morning on Interstate 476 in Marple Township, injuring the driver and shutting down northbound traffic, officials said.
The truck toppled onto its side at around 6:15 a.m. on I-476 North, near Exit 5 to Route 1. Photos shared by the Springfield Fire Company show the vehicle on the grass median.
The driver was treated and transported by Springfield Ambulance. Their condition was unavailable as of this writing.

It's unclear what caused the crash.
I-476 North was shut down for several hours, causing major backups as crews operated at the scene and cleaned up fluids.

The roadway partially reopened later at around 10 a.m., and residual delays lingered for several hours. It fully reopened mid-afternoon, according to 511PA.
