Iconic Pizzeria Returns, Rebrands With New Restaurant In Broomall

One of Delco's best-known pizzerias will open Thursday in a new space.

BROOMALL, PA — One of Delaware County's best-known pizzerias is back, reopening at 11 a.m. Thursday with a new storefront, and a new name, in Broomall.

Founded in 1941, Pica's Restaurant first opened in West Philadelphia with a brick oven and a few tables and chairs. Fifteen years later, Pica's moved to a considerably larger space in Upper Darby, where it operated for 70 years.

The new restaurant, rebranded as Pica's Italian Market Broomall, will soft launch on Thursday.

Pica's will begin with a limited menu because of issues with the gas connection. But many of the restaurant's staples, including the square pizzas, will be available.
