ICU Nurse Started Job Just As Coronavirus Hit: Broomall Hero

BROOMALL, PA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

This submission comes from Tim O'Malley, who nominated the mother of his child Lauralynn Dunleavy.

Dunleavy just started a nursing job in the ICU at Lankenau Medical Center when the coronavirus outbreak first began.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Lauralynn started a new job at Lankenau Medical Center at the beginning at the COVID Pandemic. She works overnights shifts in the ICU, both which are very difficult. Lauralynn goes above and beyond for her patient's and always put the patient's best interest first.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
She is an incredible nurse who has stood tall working nights in the pandemic.
