Marple Police Investigate BB Gun Instagram Post

Police said a post from a juvenile resident prompted an investigation. Police said no threat is present but they are investigating further.

MARPLE TOWNSHIP, PA – Marple Township Police said they confiscated a plastic BB rifle from a township juvenile following an Instagram post that raised concerns of a shooting threat Monday night.

Police said they responded to the home of a juvenile township resident Monday evening after an Instagram post showing the juvenile holding a rifle made rounds on social media.

Police said they do not believe the post was intended to be a threat to the community or Marple Newtown School District, but did confiscate the rifle, which was an Airsoft plastic BB rifle and not a real firearm.
