Man Arrested After Chase, Threatening Officers: Marple Police

Marple Police said a man was taken into custody without incident after fleeing in a stolen truck then threatening officers last week.

BROOMALL, PA — A man was taken into custody by Marple Township Police last week after fleeing in a stolen truck and threatening officers, authorities said.

According to police, officers were alerted to a possible stolen pickup truck on West Chester Pike in Broomall at about noon on Friday last week.

Officers found the vehicle on the 2500 block of West Chester Pike and tried to stop it, but the truck sped off.

Eventually, the truck struck a PECO pole in the area of West Chester Pike and Interstate 476, disabling it.

Police said the driver refused commands from officers and ran onto I-476.

Officers chased him onto the highway and eventually took him into custody without any further incidents.

During the incident, the suspect refused to show his hands and threatened officers several times that he had a firearm, police said.
