Man Found Passed Out Drunk In Car Tried To Drive Off: Marple Cops
Police said after he was woken up by an officer, he tried to put the vehicle in gear but was arrested for DUI.
MARPLE TOWNSHIP, PA — A man was found passed out drunk in a vehicle over the weekend in Marple Township, according to Marple Police.
Police arrested Lester Howell, 40, of Collingdale, after finding him passed out in the driver's seat of a vehicle Friday.
Officers were called to the Marple Crossroads Shopping Center at about 2:36 a.m. Friday to check on the vehicle.

Police said they found Howell passed out in the driver's seat and woke him up.
He then tried to put the vehicle in gear, police said.

The responding officer then conducted a field sobriety test after suspecting Howell was intoxicated.
According to police, Howell showed signs of impairment but refused a chemical test.
Police said he also had a warrant for his arrest in relation to a separate incident.
Howell was taken to the George W. Hill correctional Facility and is being charged with DUI and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
