Marine Corps Leaguers Celebrate IndependenceDay

Members of Newtown Square's Gen. Smedley D. Butler Detachment participated in the community's annual July 4th parade

The 4th of July parade started at 10:00 AM at St. Albans Circle on West Chester Pike and headed east to the firehouse at Malin Road. This is the traditional route of the parade. Leaguers gathered at the firehouse by 9:15 AM to board the Marine Corps League trailer to take them to the start of the parade and then they participated in the parade. Some Leaguers rode in the trailer while others marched the route. At the end of the parade, there were hot dogs, pretzels and water ice at the firehouse.
