Marple Hero Scholarship Fund Flea Market Canceled

The event that helps raise funds for families of emergency services workers who are killed or are permanently disabled has been canceled.

BROOMALL, PA — The coronavirus is canceling countless events around the region and nation out of public health concerns. Among the latest victims is the Hero Scholarship Fund of Marple Township’s 46th Annual Flea Market.

Peter Baylor, President of the Marple Township Hero Scholarship, said in a letter to the community that this year's flea market has been canceled.

"While this was a difficult decision, our Board of Directors met and decided that it was in the best interest for all those involved," Baylor said. "We care about the safety and well-being of all of our attendees and we must protect all of our township emergency service workers who run the event."
