Marple Newtown Combined Veterans Alliance Picnic

The Marple Newtown Veterans Alliance is comprised of Gen. Smedley D. Butler Detachment No. 741 Marine Corps League of Newtown Square, Veterans of Foreign Wars Broomall Post No. 7390 and American Legion Marple Memorial Post No. 805. Last Saturday, August 19, the three veterans organizations comprising the Alliance gathered at the Drexel Lodge Park on West Chester Pike from noon to 4:00 pm for their combined annual picnic. The picnic offers members and families of the three local veterans organizations the opportunity to mix, share memories, and enjoy a fantastic catered picnic repast. The pictures above attest to the great day that it was. The Marple Newtown Combined Veterans Alliance, in addition to the annual picnic, provides grave side services for deceased veterans and participates in local patriotic events such as the Memorial Day and Independence Day parades.
