Marple Newtown HS Average ACT Score Among Best In PA

MARPLE-NEWTOWN, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Education recently released its list of 2016 ACT scores for public high schools in the state. While some schools are cheering, others are probably figuring out what they can do to improve the scored. Marple Newtown High school is likely cheering.

According to data from the department, Marple Newtown HS has an average ACT score of 24.

Seventy-eight students at the school took the test in 2016, earning an average score of 23 in English, 24 in reading, 7 in writing, 24 in math, and 23 science.

Nearby Haverford and Penncrest high school earned an average 24 and 26, respectively. Radnor High School earned a 27, as well as Lower Merion and Harriton high schools.

Julia R. Masterman School earned the highest average ACT score with 30 and Roxborough High School had the lowest in PA with 13.

The ACT is scored from of a low of 1 to a top score of 36 and are the average of sectional scores in English, math, reading and science.

The average ACT score in Pennsylvania is 20.8.
