MARPLE TOWNSHIP, PA — The Marple Township Police Department is looking to add to its ranks, and interested and qualified people can apply now.
Marple Township will be conducting examinations for the position of police officer in order to create a candidate eligibility list.
Applicants must be at least at 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.

Other requirements include passing a physical agility test, written and oral examinations, a background investigation, a physical examination, and a psychological examination.
As per the rules and regulations of the Marple Township Civil Service Commission, and as approved by Township Ordinance, the minimum requirements for application to the position of patrolman in the Marple Township Police Department are hereby established to be any of the following: Section 304.4.1: Evidence of successful completion of the Act 120 curriculum as administered by the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission, to include the passing of the certification test; Section 304.4.2: In addition to the above, a degree from an accredited university is preferred.

Applications are available at the Marple Township Municipal Building, 227 South Sproul Road, Broomall, PA 19008 or online here.
Applications must be returned in person to the Municipal Building. There is a $35.00 processing fee required at the time of application.
Closing date for applications is noon on Friday, March 11.
The examination will be administered on Saturday, March 26.
