New Details On Man Found Dead Along I-95 In Delco Released
Local officials said the man who was found dead on Interstate 95 on Thanksgiving was down in a storm drain.
UPPER CHICHESTER, PA — Officials in Delaware County have released additional details on the man found dead on Thanksgiving along Interstate 95.
Pennsylvania State Police said the deceased man is 66 years old and from Brookhaven.
State troopers were called to mile marker 1.2 on Interstate 95 south in Upper Chichester at about 9:42 p.m. Thursday last week.

The Upper Chichester Fire Department said its firefighters showed up to the scene and found a man unresponsive about 5 to 6 feet down in a storm drain.
Crews from the fire department, Claymont Fire Company, and Monroe Energy developed a plan to remove the man using a high angle rescue device.

While working to remove the man, first responders learned the man was dead.
The fire department said air monitoring showed negative readings.
The man was eventually secured to the high angle device and removed from the storm drain.
"Our thoughts are with the victim and their family," the fire department said. "Thank you to Claymont Fire Company and Monroe Energy for their assistance on this incident."
