Police said Salata left the area before troopers arrived, but he was taken into custody after police stopped his vehicle based on a photo of his license plate taken by a witness of the incident.
In his vehicle, police found a firearm and determined he was not licensed to carry a firearm, and detected signs of impairment in Salata.
Police later reviewed security footage from the gym and saw Salata circling the area before the victim showed up.
