The agency owners and sales professionals earned the grants by volunteering to revitalize the nonprofit’s thrift store, Nana’s Attic.
Working together, Allstate agents and sales professionals, alongside DAP volunteers and staff members, painted the inside of the store – giving the 15 year old location a new energy.

Volunteers also secured a $500 Bring out the Good Month grant from The Allstate Foundation.
“As small business owners and community leaders, Allstate agency owners and financial specialists see firsthand the opportunities and challenges facing the communities they serve,” Dan Lista, owner of a Haverford Allstate, said. “Giving back is the core of the Allstate Foundation; we believe that helping others is how we strengthen communities and improve lives.”
The Allstate Foundation has been a partner of DAP since 2010, supporting the nonprofit’s Financial Empowerment Program for domestic violence victims, according to a press release.
“We are thrilled that Nana's Attic has a fresh new look! In addition to painting the inside of the store, five Allstate Insurance agents presented DAP with a gift of $5,500," Kathy L. Stone, executive director at DAP, said. "We are grateful for this partnership with the Allstate Foundation and these agents for volunteer support and helping us in our mission to serve victims of domestic violence in the community!”
Over the past seven years, The Allstate Foundation has provided nearly $171,000 in grants to the organization, the release states.
DAP is one of thousands of organizations this year to receive Allstate Foundation Helping Hands in the Community grants secured by agency owners and financial specialists on behalf of the nonprofits where they volunteer.
