Ms. Lindsay Mitchell has ten 5th grade students at Russell Elementary who began Operation Sweets for Soldiers this year! They held a guessing jar contest to raise money (they collected over $110!). The money will be used to send Halloween candy to troops overseas. They have encouraged their classmates and teachers to donate Halloween candy, they will be sending 5 care packages full of candy to troops overseas! They worked really hard organizing the guessing jar contest, making posters, collecting candy, etc.
