Outdoor Ice Rink Returning To Delaware County For Winter Season

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA — One of Delaware County's most popular winter attractions is coming back to the community this winter.

The Flight On Ice pop-up outdoor "real" ice skating rink is coming back to Newtown Square.

Flight On Ice is set to open in mid-November at Energy Transfer Veterans Memorial Rink, 4901 West Chester Pike in Newtown Square.

A portion of the rink’s proceeds to the Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association.

“Working with great partners in the community has made it possible to bring back our outdoor ice skating rink experience to Delaware County for another season," said Jon Schaffer, President of Flight Entertainment. “We are thrilled to be back again and hope to make this a staple of the community for years to come."

The rink debuted last season and has since been voted as the Best of Delco 2022 Fun Day Family Outing.

The Flight On Ice team plans to bring even more family-fun entertainment to the rink this year with ice skating sessions, fire pit lounge areas, heated private event tents, nightly programming featuring local entertainers, theme nights, and a wide selection of food and beverages.

A portion of the proceeds from both rink sales and sponsorships will benefit the Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association, located just blocks away from the rink.

Last season, Flight On Ice raised over $55,000 for the DCVMA to support the Memorial and local Veterans in the community.

"We are honored to continue our partnership with the Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association," Schaffer said. "This year our goal is to double last year’s contribution and raise over $100,000 for local Veterans."

The rink will be open through February.
