Phone Scammers Targeting Marple Residents: Police
The scam callers are faking their number to look like Marple Police's number, as well as Customs and Border Protection's number.
MARPLE TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Marple Township are warning residents of phone scammers posing as police and federal authorities to steal their money.
According to police, scammers have been using the Marple Police phone number, as well as a number for U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The callers, police said, tell their targets that their identity has been compromised and to safeguard their money they need to make deposits into accounts at Bitcoin ATMs or buy gift cards.
