A Sunoco pipeline valve reportedly malfunctioned, causing a petroleum-based product to leak in Delaware County.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Officials in Delaware County said it was a flammable liquid that caused gas odors in the county Monday.
According to Delaware County Emergency Services, a flammable liquid leak on Glen Riddle Road in Middleton Township caused the odors Monday.
Action News reports a Sunoco pipeline valve malfunctioned, causing a flammable petroleum-based product to leak.

After Delco crews secured the leak, the air quality was monitored until there were dangerous levels of Volatile Organic Compounds, the county's emergency services said.
The Pennsylvania Department of the Environment took over the clean up and investigation after county crews cleared the situation.
