Police Issue 260 Speeding, Aggressive Driving Tickets In Marple

During an aggressive driving crackdown, Marple Township Police issued numerous tickets to drivers showing aggressive behavior and speeding.

MARPLE TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Marple Township recently issued more than 200 tickets for aggressive driving and speeding during an aggressive driving crackdown effort.

Between July 6 and Aug. 23, Marple Township Police Department joined the Pennsylvania State Police and more than 215 municipal police agencies to conduct targeted aggressive-driving enforcement.

During the crackdown, Marple Police issued 150 aggressive driving related tickets, as well as 110 tickets for speeding.

Police also made 159 contacts with drivers regarding speeding or aggressive driving.

Additionally, police said between Sept. 20 and Sept. 26 they will be working to enforce seatbelt use as part of National Child Passenger Safety Week.

Marple Police officers will work with Buckle Up PA and the Traffic Injury Prevention Project to ensure children arrive safely at their destinations when riding in vehicles and will be issuing tickets.
