Restaurant Roundup: Philly Pretzel Factory to Chinnar Indian Cuisine

Patch reviews Philly Pretzel Factory, Positano Ristorante, Beijing Inn, Westgate Pub, Bevan's Own Make Candy, Chops Restaurant and Bar, Spamps Restaurant, PB and U and Chinnar Indian Cuisine this week.

Looking for a good restaurant to go to this weekend?

Marple Newtown Patch brought you the details of  Thursday. A local boy who grew up eating Philly soft pretzels winds up co-owning 6 of his very own Philly Pretzel Factories. He is friendly, hard working and always thinking of his next pretzel creation. Click  for the Meet the Owner.

Generous portions, excellent service and a decidedly Mediterranean atmosphere are the draws of this tried and true neighborhood Italian restaurant. The pasta is al dente and the vegetables are lovingly prepared. Click for the review.

The food is hit or miss at this conveniently located Chinese and Japanese restaurant. The seafood hot and sour soup was good but the service leaves much to be desired. Click for the review.

Stop in for a decent burger, the Eagles game and an impressive beer list including wonderful local brews and fancy imports. They’ll treat you like a regular even on your first visit. Click for the review.

Media has its own Willy Wonka in Randy Bevan. He can tell you all the ins and outs of chocolate, candy and candy making. He tells me that most people in the confection business are friendly and cooperative, I guess working around all that sugar makes them a bit sweeter. Click for the Meet the Chef/Owner.

An old school steakhouse with well-executed but simple food, Chops delivers four star service in a white tablecloth setting. Try the crab cake appetizer and the delicious dry aged NY strip steaks. Click for the review.

This seafood, sushi and steak restaurant does not shy away from gut busting specialties. Try the fried fettuccini, the lobster ravioli and The Classico for dessert but not all by yourself, this is food meant to be shared. Click for the review.

Whether you love your PB and J straight up or with bacon and banana, this is the place to get your fix. This kid-friendly temple to the world’s most popular legume is the brainchild of a former advertising vet. Click for the Meet the Owner.

Stop in for the tantalizing lunch buffet which is a steal for $8.95. The terrain may not seem all that familiar but the meat and vegetable preparations are saucy and tasty, just be careful not to wear white. Click for the review.
