Scammers Posing As Delco Sheriff's Office Over Phone: Police
Newtown Township Police said scammers are calling residents and posing as members of the sheriff's office, threatening arrest.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Newtown Township are warning residents of scammers posing as county authorities.
According to police, residents have reported getting calls from people claiming to be from the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.
The callers tell the residents they missed jury duty and are subject to arrest.

"The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office or Jury Services will never contact anyone by telephone and ask for personal, account information, or payment of any kind to avoid jury duty or arrest," Newtown Police said.
Anyone who receives such a call should contact the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office at 610-891-4296.
