According to police, these scammers claim a warrant is out for their target's arrest.

They try to convince targets of open warrants for their arrest.

This may come via call, text, or email.

Police urge the public not to send anybody money using a Bitcoin machine, gift cards, or agree to a cash exchange.

Anyone who gets such a call, text, or email should hang up or not reply, then contact police at 911 and ask to speak to an officer.
